Position Summary:
The Director of Operations (DOO) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and advancing all operational aspects of the clinic. This individual will be instrumental in shaping the infrastructure that supports strategic growth, clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and team engagement. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the DOO serves as a critical bridge between the business and clinical arms of the practice—ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and positioning Kennedy Vision for continued long-term success. This position will be on-site full time.
The ideal candidate is a visionary, systems-minded leader with exceptional communication skills, strong business acumen, and a genuine passion for healthcare excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
● Partner with ownership and clinical leadership to set and execute organizational goals that align with Kennedy Vision’s long-term strategic growth plan.
● Analyze market trends and performance metrics to drive business development initiatives and optimize patient acquisition and retention strategies.
● Lead annual budget planning and long-term financial forecasting, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth strategies.
Operational Excellence
● Oversee and refine operational workflows across all departments, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and exceptional patient care.
● Lead the management and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), financial performance, and operational benchmarks on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
● Direct inventory management, vendor relationships, and purchasing strategies to maintain cost-effective, high-quality clinical and retail operations.
● Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and workplace safety.
Team Development & Leadership
● Directly manage administrative and departmental leaders, providing coaching, mentorship, and accountability to develop a high-performing, collaborative culture.
● Work with the doctor(s) to establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for compliance.
● Conduct regular meetings and sessions to establish appropriate timelines and maintain accountability levels for staff.
● Lead initiatives in organizational development, talent retention, succession planning, and employee engagement.
● Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and team training in partnership with HR and clinic leadership.
● Foster a patient-centered, service-driven mindset across the team through regular communication, team meetings, and cultural initiatives. HR, Compliance & Culture
● Collaborate, guide and implement HR processes including performance management, employee relations, compensation structures, bonus programs, and employee satisfaction efforts.
● Uphold and model the clinic’s core values, creating an inclusive and respectful workplace.
● Monitor employee engagement and promote professional development through feedback, coaching, and structured leadership growth opportunities.
Patient Experience & Service Optimization
● Champion initiatives that improve patient access, satisfaction, and loyalty, including patient recall programs, service workflows, and in-office experience.
● Participate in market and audience development to help increase patient base. Maintain and oversee patient recall program(s).
● Oversee the collection and submission of data as requested or needed by accounting and the business units and/or leadership.
● Lead quality assurance initiatives and service innovation to meet evolving patient expectations.
● Maintain consistent service standards across locations while nurturing the “Kennedy Vision Experience” for all who walk through the door.

Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field
● 3 - 5+ years of operations leadership experience in a healthcare, retail healthcare, or optometric setting
● Experience leading multi-location operations strongly preferred
● Demonstrated success in team leadership, budgeting, and performance optimization
● Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare compliance standards
● Proficiency with EHR systems and operational software; experience with Revolution EHR is a plus
